According to Japanese media reports, Sharp's own brand Aquos high-end smartphones with self-produced OLED panels are expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2018.

According to relevant information, Sharp announced on July 31, 2018 that it had completed its quarterly results as of the end of June 2018. It has confirmed that it has started mass production of OLED panels in June.

Sharp previously said that it will begin mass production of OLED panels in the summer of 2018, using equipment provided by Foxconn and Sharp's joint venture Sakai Display Company (SDP).

According to data provided by IHS Markit, Samsung Display currently accounts for 90.1% of the global small and medium OLED panel market, and LG Display has a small market share of 7.7%.
