Today, Apple officially announced that it will provide up to 4 years of free repairs for some MacBooks and MacBook Pros. Let’s see if your model is on the list. The affected laptops include the following models:

 

MacBook Pro (13 inch, Early 2015)

 

MacBook Pro (15 inch, Mid 2015)

 

MacBook Pro (13 inch, 2016)

 

MacBook Pro (15 inch, 2016)

 

MacBook Pro (13 inch, 2017)

 

MacBook Pro (15 inch, 2017)

 

MacBook (12 inch, Early 2015)

 

MacBook (12 inch, Early 2016)

 

MacBook (12 inch, Early 2017)

 

This list basically covers all MacBook models after 2015, but the MacBook Pro or MacBook Air models released in 2018 or later have not yet been added.

 

Apple added in its memo that MacBook Pro models released in 2014 and before are no longer eligible to participate in the program. Because most of these devices have been more than four years old, but if they are sold by dealers after four years, they are still covered by repairs. Generally speaking, it is decided according to the time of purchase.

 

Apple started this maintenance program in October 2015 because some MacBook and MacBook Pro users experienced problems with the wear and tear of the reflective coating on the retina display.

 

Apple's "Internal Service Guide" for this issue mentioned that if the problem has occurred and users pay for repairs through official channels for this, users can initiate a refund by contacting Apple Support.
